The Highlands-Cashiers Plateau

Find Your Place in the Mountains.

A second home here is about more than finding the right house. It's understanding the communities, the clubs, the roads, the views, and all the little details that make life on the Plateau different.

I help buyers and sellers navigate Highlands, Cashiers, Scaly Mountain, Sapphire, Glenville, and Lake Toxaway with local knowledge, thoughtful strategy, and a straightforward approach.

About Rachel

I chose this place, too.

I spent summers here as a kid, and the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau has always been my favorite place on earth. Nearly a decade ago, I finally made it home.

Since then, knowing the back roads, favorite restaurants, trusted contractors, and differences between communities has become part of both my life and my job.

Today, I help buyers find the place that fits how they want to live here, and sellers position their homes for the people hoping to do the same.

My approach is personal, practical, and pretty straightforward: know the market, pay attention to the details, and make the process as easy as possible for the people trusting me with it.

How I Help

01  The Search

Finding the right home starts with finding the right part of the Plateau.

Highlands and Cashiers may only be about ten miles apart, but buying in each can be a very different experience. Add Scaly Mountain, Sapphire, Lake Glenville, Lake Toxaway, private club communities, and the options multiply quickly.

I'll help you narrow the search based on how you actually want to spend your time here, then help you evaluate the details that aren't always obvious in a listing.

02  The Details

Second homes come with a different set of questions.

Who looks after the house when you're gone? How steep is that driveway? Is the view protected? What does club membership actually include? Can you rent the property? And who do you call when something inevitably decides to stop working on a Saturday?

Finding the house is only part of my job. I help you understand what owning it will actually look like, with a local network to help long after closing.

03  The Community

The best home is the one that fits the life you want here.

Maybe that's walking to dinner on Main Street in Highlands. Golf and pickleball inside a private club. Summers on Lake Glenville or Lake Toxaway. Ten quiet acres in Scaly Mountain. Or a porch with a mountain view and absolutely nowhere you need to be.

I'll help you understand the personality of each area, not just what happens to be for sale.

Selling on the Plateau

Your buyer probably doesn't live here yet.

Selling a second home requires more than putting it on the market. It means understanding who the likely buyer is, what will make them choose your home over the alternatives, and how to reach them before they ever arrive in the mountains.

I combine thoughtful positioning, high-quality marketing, local market knowledge, and the reach of Silver Creek Real Estate Group to put your property in front of the right audience.

Because more exposure isn't always the answer. Better positioning is.

The standard inspection checklist misses half of what actually matters on a mountain lot. Here's the list I walk through with buyers.
